Ever since I’ve been working as an artist, a location as a room with its specific ambiance and architectural requirement has always been inspiration and stimulation for my artistic answer and/or intervention.Thus, the experience of a room created ideas for pictures and projects directly connected to the room, which complement and interpret a specific location artistically. At the beginning, paintings and sculptures were my means of expression. In the mid 1990^th, I started anew in a way.
In order to break out of well known techniques and to regenerate myself artistically, I confronted myself with a unique material: very delicate transparent paper, jewelry silk. Its shadow effects gave me the opportunity to sense the basic artistic techniques like the drawing free from well known means anew.Thus, I was able to work out forms of expression, which are far from the categories we are used to. This resulted in room-taking installations, sometimes complemented by the bases light and gauze.
Since 2001, I’ve been putting my experience with paper and the fascination for this “painting means” on canvas.
