CASAdelDRAGON – SPAIN
The Casa del Dragon in Cervera del Maestre invites artists from all over the world to live, work and exhibit together in the Maestrazgo region (near Vinaros, Peñiscola, Sant Mateo, Morella) in Spain.
The 700 years old stone house in the village of Cervera del Maestre is an open art project. More than 100 artists passed the location between 2007 and 2012. The house offer up to 11 places for residency.
“For us it is important to develop new international art projects. We create in a open living community with international guests a spirit and a dynamic basement for this emergency think tank. European art projects like EL-DRAC, an open community of professional artists with more than 180 members of 22 nations, the european art show LOVE IN CIVIL WARS or ARTSURPRISE.EU are amazing spin-offs of this contemporary art space (Juan Petry, founder of Casa del Dragon).”
The house of the dragon bring creative people together. You can be part of this think tank, if you are professional artist, curator, art agent, gallerist, art historian, a journalist, poet, dancer… or if you like to help with your fundamental business or handcraft knowledge (like a business angel) to develop new emergency art projects. The residence is supported by private sponsorship. Private donations are helping a lot to organize events and take care of the facilities and space.
Since summer 2014 the residence is also part of the world wide project of sevengardens.org. The dye garden project is founded by Peter Reichenbach (Germany). CASA del DRAGON starts the first dye garden in the valencian region, featured by UNESCO and local partners.
The focus of the residence is european art, this is art from all european members, whereever they are living and working, and form any artist, working in europe. So definetly this residence welcome artists from asia, amerika and other continents to participate in a open dialog to explore new amazing art.
